Quite why there is such a range, is anyones guess. 90% of the Aero 8's who have come to market in the past ~5-10yrs have been manifestly the same...low mileage, similar spec, etc. The last one brought to market here on BaT was as unique an example as they come, possessing a rather striking Mulberry interior, clean history report and excellent cosmetic/mechanicals - and it only fetched $74K before becoming a RNM.\r\nSo that begs the question - with so many unknown variables - what is this example worth? I'm guessing something in the range of ~75% of that number would be more than reasonable, leading to a transaction value in the mid-50's to low-60's. Time will tell if buyer and seller agree!\r\n\r\nQuestion for @2roverbob - was the steering wheel replaced during your ownership or during previous ownership? That steering wheel became the standard on *some* later Aero SS & Aero bodied Morgan Plus 8s but was not what this car left the factory with. Replacement makes sense given the level of mechanical/electrical overhaul that had to be undertaken post Sandy - just curious.\r\n\r\nMy .02 - as someone who has had their finger on the pulse of all things Morgan for the past 15yrs or so - this car presents a very positive entrance for the right buyer. The flood stuff does not terribly disturb me any more than it would for any other car - less even, given the bonded aluminum structure and overall simplicity of these builds. Plus, the electrical gremlins could just as easily be explained away as part of a Moggie's usual temperament. The fact that both time and mileage have born this example out as being a reliable car say enough for me. Having said that, because of it's history, it should still come at a fairly deep discount and that could mean many miles of smiles for an owner who might've thought this was out of reach.\r\n\r\nI've driven two different S1&2 Aero 8's - and one Aero SS. It's like comparing apples and orangutans but I can say I loved rowing the tall gears of the Aero 8. Sure the 4.8L engine of the later Aero 8&SS's provides a little more punch - but these cars have such a positive power to weight ratio you're rarely gushing for more. It sits perfectly in the range of having enough power to get you into trouble and yet being perfectly benign enough to drive on the edge without maiming yourself. Sitting on that rear axle and hearing the exhaust pop is simple and exhilarating fun.
