A number of years ago I owned a 1997 XJ6 in Jade Green over Oatmeal leather. Last year of the straight six and it was the best car I\u2019ve ever owned and had it for eight years\u2026a record for me! These are incredibly well made cars, beautiful to look at and a joy to drive. I remember test driving an X308 XJR (2003) back in the day and loving it but decided to keep my XJ6 at the time as it was still so pristine. Kicking myself for passing on an XJR 100 about 10 years ago with virtually just delivery miles on it. Dealer asking price was $30,000 which was all the money and thensome back then. In retrospect, especially with the run up in values for virtually all unique cars the past few years, it would have been a good purchase. The current bid and jump up from the one prior is setting a high bar, but low mileage examples like the auction car are rare. The owner of this car obviously took great care of it. Many I see available for sale with lowish miles (definitely more than this car) have asking prices that are far less than the current bid. But as this one is a rare bird, perhaps worth the premium? The auction for this car will be an interesting one and staying tuned to see if there are any bids higher than the current one.
