We decided to replace or repair all items recommended by Bert from Bert Motor Works deemed by him \u201ca must\u201d (highly recommended & honest shop in San Antonio TX). Heck, we even replaced the horn set! Then, my plan was to:\r\n1. Find a shop using PPG products and put a fresh coat of paint on the car. \r\n2. Have the seats upholstered\r\n3. Sand blast and paint the Crommadora rims\r\n\r\nThe paint job was completed during the summer of 2017. Later that year, I underwent lower back surgery and things changed. We used the car a lot less but chose to keep it hoping for better health. As a result, the seats still wear the seat covers bought in 2017(see receipt) and the sandblasting of the rims was never completed. Last month I had lower back surgery again and so, my days of shifting and driving low clearance cars are coming to an end soon as I may auction my \u201899 328ic as well. I\u2019m not there yet but, seems that way.\r\n\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014-\r\nKnowing we\u2019ve chosen a reasonably low reserve, we are pretty confident our 1982 X 1/9 will have a new and excited owner 10 hours from now. They look new to me when I bought the car the following year and they look new today less than 4,000 miles later. Other than our trips to wine country before the end of 2017, we have driven the car locally on Sundays & holidays.\r\n\r\n4. Ref rubber- NO. The rest of the rubber looks good and both trunk rubber seals look as good as new. Take a look at photos #79, 91, and 92. Those are the things that are not quite perfect.\r\n\r\n4. YES and YES. Per my comment this morning, the car has been barely deiven since my first lower back surgery in 2017 so old gasoline was the problem.
