The brake houses are standard. I also have a booster which isn't really necessary, but does reduce braking effort. This car retains its original generator. Many people, including me, have replaced this with an alternator. I did it because my generator failed. I have dual carburetors, but you can install a single, larger carburetor and get more horsepower with no downside. Use a larger S.U. These are eminently useable small cars and a lot of fun. The mechanical bits are available from Moss and many UK dealers who also stock body and interior parts. You can buy this car and start collecting trophies. You can also take it to the grocery store and cause a crowd. Nearly impossible to field replace the top part but if one removes the oil pan and rear seal retainer there was an old time fix that involves driving a small spring steel shim behind it. \r\nRope seals were basically the only choice until the late 1950's. (Chevy 283 got lip seals 1958-9 era. Jaguar kept their ropes thru the late 1960's i think.) \r\nA rope seal might drip a tiny bit but massive leaks are repairable. \r\nOne should note that a bad leak MIGHT be a sign of badly worn main bearings.
