I suspect it has been a California car its whole life given the minimal rust underneath and the service tag from an Oakland dealer in 1994. (see image 105) It was driven minimally for 12 years and maintained as a reliable driver until 10 years ago. Additional records of oil changes and other maintenance under our ownership comes with the car. Yes this car was privately owned within the Morehouse community. The engine has matching numbers to the VIN. The rear windows and partition window don't fully work however they do move a little bit, so they likely just need lubrication. All the original AC hoses are in place on the car with just the rear AC unit removed and included in parts.\r\nSome good: Both front electric windows operate as do the roll out quarter windows. The speedo works as do the directional switch and lights.\r\nSome bad: The odometer isn't working right now although it has throughout our ownership, but the car has been sitting for 10 years. The light switch is not turning on the headlights. The wipers aren't working but I hear the washer motor kicking in when I press the button. There was one of these in the junkyard with less than 20k miles and looked perfect. I was told the funeral home owner\u2019s son had borrowed it for prom and ran it into a ditch, bending the frame. I told him he should repair it. He went to Ohio to pick up a \u201865 hearse chassis from a company that built hearses. Apparently they recycled the hearse part onto newer chassis. He drove that car back from Ohio with just the front end and body up to the B pillar. The thought was to swap the frames. Unfortunately a little research would had shown us that the frame and chassis were not the same. Un-deterred, he swapped the front of the frame from the hearse onto the limo frame and made it work. Mine had a very discrete \"FLEETWOOD\" lettering on the trunk. This was really making it in 1962. To even apply to the Fleetwood Division at GM you had to be a Cadillac employee for 10 years. I drove mine through the deep south for 7 weeks from North Carolina to California without a single mile on the interstate and the car was an instant conversation starter.\r\n\r\nBuilt to an extremely high standard these cars are absent of any body roll irrespective of the long wheel base. Excellent brakes and my car was covered with wool seating surfaces and had no less than 9 lighters in the car. Other than giving it a wash the only things I did to prepare it for this sale was to put in a new battery (just one), pumped out the old gas and refilled the tank with new gas, and carefully manually filled the float chambers on the carb, after which it started right up. The engine sounds very good with no unusual noise from either the upper or lower end once it's warmed up. You can hear the engine in the driving video. It's a bit stumbly at start up, and I have not touched the ignition system, so replacing these parts along with checking the timing would be a good idea.\r\nI'm not familiar with shipping cars across the country as I've not it before - this is my first BaT experience. The car is almost 22' long so BaT didn't want to use their standard shipping calculator.
