My wife, who is Austrian, her father had one of these and used it to haul building materials up the hill to build the family mountain house in the Alps. When he wasn't hauling stuff up the hill, she rode in the side car and helped him build it. Loots of good memories. She emigrated to the USA in the 70's. Went home one year and he had sold it. She was not happy since he didn't let her know. We have a Ural so I partially satisfy her memories of old. I don't think I am going to show her this auction! She now owns the house. IO have had several sidecar/bike combinations, and the prospective buyer should take it easy while learing to ride this wonderful old beast. Driving a sidecar rig, especially a heavy one, is very different from driving a 'regular\" motorcycle. Beware the brakes! They are marginal. I owned a 600cc Norton that was built to haul a sidecar, and I expect this bike is similar - lots of torque, but not much on speed, which is a good thing. You don't want to go too fast in one of these old rigs. Take your time. Learn what you can and can't do, and beware of sharp turns. On the Harleys they simply unscrewed to open, and screwed in to close. That was the priming set up for cold starts. I imagine the original gas cap for this bike may have had a syringe for drawing up raw fuel to pump into the cock on top of the head.
