At the time of purchase, the car had 39,843 miles. I am the first owner since the restoration. In my almost 13 years of ownership, I have only driven the car less than 6K miles. This the last car to be sold from my collection, and my first listing on BaT.\r\n\r\nThis Classic started life as a base model \u201968 Mustang Convertible, with a 6-cylinder engine. Before being restored in the style of a Shelby GT350, the car was actually in exceptional condition. I will try and post pics of the vehicle in its \u2018before-resto\u2019 state.\r\n\r\nThis project was an \u2018open wallet\u2019, full body & drivetrain restoration, completed by Cobra Jet Customs & Chris Agee Resto-Racing in Georgia. The quarter panels, wheel wells, fender aprons, radiator support, and one-piece floor pan were all replaced. Fiberglass Shelby-style hood, trunk, front trim, and side scoops are courtesy of Tony Branda. \r\n\r\nThe chassis, undercarriage, and engine bay are all meticulously detailed. When I bought the car, it came with different sized front & rear tires, which I did not care for. A few years ago, I decided to add a fresh, matched set of BF Goodrich 225/60/15 tires all around, including a fully balanced Factory Mag spare tire in the trunk. Genuine Koni Classic shocks were also added during my ownership, giving the car the correct stance, ride height, exception ride quality, and handling. \r\n\r\nThe rebuilt 351W bears a casting stamp of C90E-6015-B (see galley pics). I have been told this is from 1969, but please do your own research. While visually identical, the 351W is light years ahead of its 302 predecessors in terms of torque, performance, and sheer driving enjoyment. \r\n\r\nIn August 2012, at 41,050 miles, the car developed a slight leak from the front pump seal in the transmission. At this time, I chose to have the entire transmission rebuilt by a \u2018Transmission only\u2019 shop, that is independently owned a well-known Classic Car enthusiast. The transmission, now with a 100,000 mile warranty, continues to shift and operate as stock. No herky-jerky shift kit, etc., just seamless, buttery-smooth, stock shifting.\r\n\r\nIf you are looking for a Hot Rod for Drag racing, please shop elsewhere. This car is a complete creampuff. Starts every time, without doing a rain dance. Everything works, directionals self-cancel as they should, etc. Passes Massachusetts\u2019 strict annual Motor Vehicle Inspection every year without any issue. You could toss the keys to any woman, and she would have no difficulty operating this car.\r\n\r\nMake no mistake. It has ample power and torque, but with excellent street manners, and a well-mannered idle. No loud/smelly, obtrusive exhaust or coffee-spilling cam lope, etc. I routinely take it for Interstate trips to the mountains (MA. to VT.), cruising the entire way at 75+ MPH, one hand on the wheel, safely and effortlessly changing lanes, all while eating an ice cream cone. Car will also happily idle all day while stuck in sweltering, New England summer traffic, without breaking a sweat. I would not hesitate to drive this car to Florida, and back, tomorrow.\r\n\r\nThe scenic cemetery pics shown in the gallery were taken on July 10, 2022, with 45,407 miles. The car was then driven 13 miles back to its garage, where it has remained in storage. Per BaT\u2019s request, additional pics (shown in the parking lot) were taken on April 8, 2023, with 45,420 miles. The car is presently in storage in Burlington, MA., located less than 20 minutes from Logan Airport, and will remain, undriven, until the auctions close. Like I said, to go through all of this trouble in creating a tribute, it's a shame the body shop cut corners. I never investigated what gear ratio is presently has, either. It definitely doesn't have 4:11's or anything of that nature. I can tell you that it doesn't feel even the slightest bit strained during extended highway rides. Not sure what your intended use will be, but personally, I would not change a thing.\r\n\r\nI don't think it's the original 6-cylinder rear axle. That axle had 4-wheel lug studs poking through the rear brake drum, this one has 5 studs. The casting numbers found on the present rear end are as follows (I will try and upload a pic):\r\nC70W\r\n4025-A\r\n 17\r\n\r\nNo AC. Heat, wipers, lights, etc. all work as they should.
