But everyone has an opinion. In my opinion, '81-'84 are the best years. First year for Brembo breaks, electronic ignition, lighter clutch, Ni cylinders, dual cross over exhaust, and a few more things. 1984 was the last year for dual rear shocks, so really '84 is it for the classic look. 1982 BMW changed the neck lock to a round lock, ending the era for the oval look that ran from '56-'81 incl.
