The 7th LHD diesel export of 1959 to be exact. This explains the 2 liter diesel. They officially only came on 1958's. Having said that LR was not particularly hung up about model year changes. \r\nThis appears to me to be a very original and complete rig. My favorite kind! Only big thing I can see that this wasn't born with is that rear tailgate. It is from a much later Series 3. Should have the individual rubbing galvanized sticks. If you scratch the paint on this one, it is completely galvanized. \r\nWrite up says there is some corrosion on the undercarriage. Very common description that is vague and pretty much useless in my opinion. From what I can see there is some minor surface rust which is not a problem. Could use more pics on a lift to ally any concerns. \r\nA 2 liter diesel is slow but a 2.25 isn't much faster. Not a rig to cruise American highways and byways at 70 but that isn't what some who buys this is interested in. Just the olive soft top pictured in one of the photos. I have the full hoop set and soft top, as well as a tan bikini top that are included. Unfortunately no current photos with these on.\r\n\r\nAs mentioned in the listing, the engine has been giving me some issues that I don't have the bandwidth to fix.\r\n\r\nFirst it was just stalling on hills, which I believe to be some sort of fuel issue. I brought it to a local shop and unfortunately they only made it worse, now it spits out a ton of white smoke, and stalls on hills. \r\n\r\nI truly believe any diesel mechanic worth his salt can get her back to running like she was pretty easily.\r\n\r\nBefore this issue, she would start on a dime and zip around at 0-40mph all day. When downshifting into first you need to double clutch or come to a complete stop.\r\n\r\nDoes it move into each gear as it should?\r\nYes, when running well it shift as well as one could expect from a 65 year old farm truck. All the works have been carried out in Land Rover by specialized technicians. All documented, including receipts of purchased components. The vehicle works perfectly, marching. To be reviewed the bodywork, a very healthy frame.\r\n\r\nMechanically perfect.
