This is one of the best detailed GTs to hit BaT, plus it's an early stepnose. It deserves top dollar. A stock 2L can easily keep up with modern traffic and a built 2L will make your hot looking vintage Italian car actually feel reasonably fast. Plus there are far more spare blocks / heads around, rebuild parts are significantly cheaper, and you get a spin on oil filter instead of the miserably messy canister on the 1300-1750s.\r\n\r\nThe knock on the 2Ls has been that they don't like to rev and the head gaskets are more prone to failure. With the right cams instead of the stock boat anchors the US cars got a 2L will rev just fine, and if you use a quality Reinz gasket prepped correctly and torqued according to the updated factory specs the head gasket won't be a problem.\r\n\r\nThis car looks to be a nicely done \"hot rod\" stepnose, and with a 2L should have some go to back up the show. After two years I picked up the car from the body shop, drove the car for a few miles. It drove like an old lady wearing high heels. I simply couldn't enjoy driving the car this way. I know black is rare and beautiful but I always wanted one red. Although it was a tough decision I decided to go forward with the red. Originally this car was never meant to be sold, however time has changed and here we are.
