The mechanic employed there, a Spec Miata racer, is aware of the unique needs of the early cars with short-nose cranks and took the correct steps to ensure proper installation. When the timing belt was changed, the belt tensioner and idler, water pump, power steering belt, and thermostat were also replaced as is customary. The car is well represented in the description and sellers comments. I drove the car several time over the years. Prior to the sale, the car sat for about 2 years without being driven. I did have to replace a dead battery but the car started and ran easily after the second crank. The prior owner loved this car and only sold it because her knees are bad and she could no longer get in and out of the car easily. The car was always garage kept and never driven in the snow and rarely in the rain. She did not keep service records but the car was regularly service by the shop that serviced the family's pool company vehicles. Sheryl, the prior owner said the car was purchased new by a neighbor of KC Royals legend George Brett who wanted the car in Royal (Mariner) Blue. She purchased the car from a local Chrysler dealer who took it in on trade. Someone will get a very clean, low mileage and well loved car. Datsun240Z and Sheryl were very kind to me, picking me up at the airport, helping me navigate Kansas City and Olathe where I needed to buy tires and have an oil change, as well as getting a room overnight. They were super-even treating me to Kansas Barbecue at a legendary barbecue place! Sheryl also wrote out an itinerary for my return trip including places to visit. She loved the car and it was well cared for. I have continued with the maintenance and one repair-the driver side power window motor was replaced, and one headlight actuator was adjusted. This car can be driven to whatever destination you'd like. It is a splendid driver-quality car that could be a collector car with little further effort as it has an accident-free history. In my opinion it is too beautiful to become a spec racer, but this car would be an excellent candidate for that also. \r\nI'd like to add here that I have an extensive collection of receipts, from the original purchase receipt down to most of those from my ownership ( I'm lacking one oil change receipt).\r\n@Correctwheeldrive Early 1600's are all about engine revs. They wake up around 4500rpm with a snarl from the exhaust and a jump ahead.
