I like the modifications done to this car. Just enough to make it a little quicker, and handle better. Interesting choice on the 2.6Liter engine. I am guessing one was easily found, and grabbed quickly. I like the front and rear spoiler. Love the wheels. The right size tire. 5 Speed is a plus. But, my Goodness, what a spares package. The R200 diff is intriguing. Do they still make the LSD insert for it? That would be my first move. I haven't priced a triple Weber Set in a long time. I assume they are not cheap. Good one there. As for the rest, keep it. You can never have too many spares for a 46 year old car. Sounds great in the video. There is a whole lot to like here. A Hot Rod Z in bright red. At the time I was only looking for a correct E88 head to put on the original block but the guy I bought it from said it ran when he pulled it out. He also gave me the spare 4-speed and a couple of sets of flat top carbs. I put it in and had it running great in almost no time so I figured I would wait to have the original engine rebuilt until I decided on the L28ET swap (which I didn't end up going through with). I bought the Weber's from an old fellow that had sold his Z when the C6 Corvette came out. He tracked his Z regularly with the Weber's on in the 80s and 90's. Said he kept the carbs in case he ever bought another 240. He may have also given me an N42 head but I will have to check on that. He also had a right hand drive dash that I still regret passing on to this day. It could be steam cleaned easily if the new owner wanted. The wheel wells look OK in the pictures and are probably solid under the undercoat, and I don\u2019t think there is any rot lingering there. \r\n\r\nThe floor pans look very good from both the inside and from underneath. So do the bottoms of the rocker panels. The frame rails also look good from the engine bay and from underneath. \r\n\r\nThe passenger side inner wheel well is rusty but that\u2019s not unusual because that area is right under the battery, and battery acid removes paint over the years. \r\n\r\nI have 2 questions about the car:\r\n\r\n1) if someone were to take a small box end wrench, say a 10 mm, and lightly knock on the passenger\u2019s inner wheel well right under the battery, would there be a solid metallic ringing sound and the wrench bounce off, or would the metal sound thin and maybe sound slightly hollow, which might indicate that it\u2019s thin? \r\n\r\n2) Picture 149 shows the lower section of the left frame rail. It\u2019s covered in black flaking undercoat. That\u2019s an area where there is an extra layer of reinforcing metal that\u2019s spot welded along the bottom of the wheel well, right above the left thrust bar box. I would want to scrape off the flaking undercoat, which isn\u2019t protecting the metal if it\u2019s flaking anyway, to know that it\u2019s solid underneath.
