The common issue is that the grease dries up and the loading mechanism jams. There are videos online that go through disassembly. Cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and lubrication with an electronics safe grease may get the changer functioning. Even if you are going with other music options, it still may be nice to get it working. For Bluetooth users, BlueBus is coming online and it looks to integrate well with this era BMW. Here are answers to the questions posted: Since I purchased it from my former neighbor in 2009, the VANOS has not been serviced. That said, the car runs great and does not exhibit any issues related to VANOS complications. Also, the rear sub-frame reinforcement has not been completed during my ownership. Again the car drives great. It does not mean it has been done it just means it doesn't need it yet. I have reached out to the prior owner to verify if he had completed any VANOS or sub-frame work and am awaiting his response. My visual inspection indicates that sub-frame work has likely not been done and no cracks are visible. I will let you know once I hear back from the original owner. There was also a question related to the clutch and again, I have not completed any clutch related service, however it functions perfectly. The factory parts included are: original exhaust, original cold air intake, original wheels. I also believe I have the original suspension parts but need to go out to my storage unit to verify that. There was a question about the how much lighter the weight of the BBS wheels might be vs. the original wheels and I do not know the answer to that question. I believe that covers it for now. Whoever ends up with it will be very happy as it really is an amazing vehicle. I\u2019ve not driven the newest one with the turbo 6, but my brother had a 135 that somewhat probably has a lot of similar feelings to it (power delivery, steering, etc.). The E92 for me is the sweet spot of chassis feel and engine feel, but the E46 to me represents the culmination of BMW\u2019s NA in-line-6 development. It has all of the technology to make the engine sing, ITB, VANOS, etc. and is the end of that lineage. It represents something historical to me, and I love tossing them around. I\u2019m also partial to the subtle strength the body lines project. \n\nIf the I6 isn\u2019t enough power for someone, while the E92 is maybe the ugliest IMHO, the chassis and everything feels very very similar to the E46 to me, just with an awesome V8 that sounds amazing.
