Same year, same color, it could be this bike. Dad was so freaked out he went to his attorney to see if he could stop me from riding it and was told I was now considered an adult and he had no say. It didn't say he had no sway. It scared him so much to have me riding it he pulled the Godfather number. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Dad was a car dealer so he bought the bike from me for full retail and gave me my very first company \"demonstrator\". A Candy Apple Red '69 Mach i 428 Super Cobra Jet. Even at that price I wasn't really ready to give up the bike. There's nothing like the sense of freedom you get riding your first motorcycle up a canyon road on a springtime evening. Like my first love, first car, there'll always be a soft spot in my heart for that two wheeled rocket. My Father had always bought and sold Harley-Davidsons as a side business and after seeing how superior the Japanese bike was he never owned another Harley. In 1978 he bought a brand new Kawasaki 1000 LTD that he kept until the late 2000's. A few years later I bought a brand new Honda 400 Super Sport and one day I'd like to own one of these two.
