Well, in this family my wife is the convertible enthusiast. I like them, but it is definitely a must for her! Unfortunately, getting comfortable with this car just hasn't happened. Some of it is ergonomics and some is psychological. If she isn't comfortable getting into this car anytime she wants to go somewhere, then this isn't the right car. \r\n\r\nAs for paint @johnnyb11, yes, the car has had paintwork in several areas. I am not aware of the exact areas or time frame. Close up photos are provided for the areas I spotted, but I am sure I did not get them all. Fortunately, the car presents very well in person and only close inspection reveals the flaws. Since we wanted a car that could be driven without fear, the flaws have not been a problem. Some of our previous cars have been so close to perfect that we rarely drove them for fear of causing damage or hurting the value! Now we prefer the concept of driving without fear or regret!\r\n\r\nThis car drives very well and we haven't had any regrets. Photo 25 is a good example. That many bugs would have been hugely stressful on a more perfect car, but I didn't flinch one bit when it happened.\r\n\r\nThe service we had done was at The Jag Shop in Portland. When I bought this car, I liked the fact that it had been driven almost 9,000 miles since the last belt service. I happily added another 2,000 miles. I wanted to answer a few questions here so everyone can be informed. \n\nThe car is garage kept and on a Deltran Battery Tender Plus. It may get driven in the next few days, but otherwise will stay in the garage until the lucky buyer picks it up (or his/her shipper). There is no rush to get it out of the garage, I am happy to work with the buyer to accommodate their needs.\n\nThe Jag Shop invoice refers to the convertible top seals being torn where they meet the side windows. The driver side seal has a narrow split about 1 inch long, and I have left it as is since it is not an issue for me. I replaced the passenger side seal as the tear was significant.\n\nPhotos 36 and 57 are areas at the rearward portion of both doors where the glass meets the door. The rubber trim is not properly placed, but as far as I can tell is not torn. I lack the proper trim tools to reposition them correctly (without risking damage).\n\nBoth power windows function, the driver window is a bit faster than the passenger window.\n\nThe pop-up headlights both function, as well as the turn signals and tail lights.\n\nPhoto 52 (next to the dime) is meant to show where one bar on the tail light grill has become detached from the perimeter.\n\nAfter taking delivery of the car back in March, I checked the stereo by tuning it into a local station and it seemed to work fine (the car was parked in the garage at the time). I have not used it since then, so I can't say if it works well or not. Not once in the time I have driven the car have I used it - the car provided me with all the music I needed!\n\nWhen the car arrived in March, the engine cover struts would not keep the cover open. I ordered 2 new ones, as well as the glove box strut. As soon as spring temperatures arrived, the engine cover struts started doing their job. My bogie was 38. Hey @zipdang, tell your wife the lumbar was a big problem for me too. I'm 6-1and 200. I took the seat out. I bought an Aussie sheepskin cover and a memory foam lumbar thing from Amazon. I glued it to the cover and glued plastic sheet skrim to the foam so it can float against the T-shirt I put over the seatback. I'm in heaven with this car and that set-up. I modified the dead pedal and the serrated clutch pedal so I can use my ankle instead of my leg. I fixed all 24 left door wires the RIGHT way. I drilled a 1/8\" hole in the window window motor gear case and injected grease and chain lube so now I have wet sump window motors. I greased the regulator tracks also. I put on some 225 front and 285 rear meats for a better ride and grip. I painted the wheels very light silver /bronze that goes with my interior and boot. I painted the chin. I re-sealed the A/C compressor. I replaced that A/C fuse with a circuit breaker and lengthened the wires up to the drier window. I made an access panel for the A/C fill so you don't have to take out Frunk. I took out the Fabspeed cats and replaced them with Fabspeed tubes. Man o man does it have a nice song now. It does not need a 2800 dollar Tubi. I put a MOMO suede steering wheel and Ferrari horn button on it cuz the stock wheel is just too slippery. I put 5k miles on it in 2 summers and it's a lotta fun. I have 6 cars and only want to drive the Spider. BTW, that 348 spider badge on early production cars is NOT to be found. I checked with Algar, UK, Hong Kong and Ferrparts last year.
