Airbags have been NLA for ages on these cars, so the only option would be a wheel swap. Many owners have changed wheels as a matter of taste by now, but listed front end damage makes me curious... When swapping wheels on an airbag car, the stalks on the steering column are closer to the wheel, which can be annoying unless they're bent. \r\n\r\nHas any work been done to the rear differential? The factory stamped lug on the speedometer sensor has been removed. They were there as a way of helping prove mileage wasn't tampered with while the car was under warranty. (I have a E39 M5 and E38 740i sport).\r\n\r\nThe car is as presented and, in person, the interior is perhaps even nicer than the photos can convey. The red leather *really* pops and the overall interior condition is pretty stunning, with the added benefit of a modern head unit. And the steering wheel and shift knob are just *mint* which really lends it a great feeling.\r\n\r\nPerhaps nicest of all was the driving experience itself. I'd never driven a E30 of any flavor, but the acceleration on this was smooth but strong. And the upgraded/refreshed suspension bits meant that the ride was just as nice.\r\n\r\nThe fact that the bidding increased from $11K to $17K between when I saw it and the time of this post is reflective of its condition.\r\n\r\nOne last thought that others have raised as well: this one is almost too nice to drive it as a daily/year-round or in weather that would take advantage of its capabilities. Having seen it person, I'm not sure I would want to subject this fine specimen to that.
