Same can't be said for replacing cat forward portion. \n\nBoxster wheels are also easy fix. Please refit the phonies. The scale of these wheels really fights with rest of car. \n\nOpinion has shifted massively on these. Even three years ago no one at shows or track days would give them a second glance. But now I get the light flash recognition once a week. \n\nI also drove it to lime rock historics this year and had it in the paddock. Lots of people stopped to talk about the 951, even more than my spitfire race car. Just a few years ago, same race, not one person asked. For the same price as an original rear muffler, i ended up doing a cat-back 3\" exhaust from Lindsey Racing. Since this car is original, probably the rear muffler only should be replaced. Beautiful rare color and excellent condition, the buyer should look to ebay for the missing pump and pay a lot for one as this car deserves to have an original pump. Also, original steering wheels can be found on ebay, though i highly recommend a Porsche Cup wheel which can be found occasionally for around $500 (new or used). An upgrade I recommend is LED lights in the instrument cluster as these cars have a silver film that fails on the \"light tube\" that leads from the light bulb to the instrument cluster. I replaced my silver film with plastic mirrors from the hobby store and LED bulbs and the instruments are awesome again. The Saratoga Top is a wonderful option, but i heard some of them leak, so maybe the seller wants to check that and report back. \n\nThis is a rare one family car, with receipts and a super-rare color, i can't wait to see the last ten minutes of the auction on this one. Surprised to hear that any '87s left the factory without ABS and airbags. ABS is what prompted Porsche to change the wheel offsets in '87, so is the car also an early-offset car running spacers to fit the late-offset Boxster wheels? The other important change for '87 is the accordion-style exhaust manifolds; the '86 versions are prone to cracking and leaks. It was a factory TSB at the time but not all cars were retrofitted. Nowadays retrofit is a $2000 expense even if you can find the manifolds used - ask me how I know! The super wide rear tires were a nice surprise. The car runs great and i thoroughly enjoyed it in the mountains of West Virginia. The car delivered 27 MPG on the 1,688 mile trip.
