Additionally, from time-to-time, so should the centrifugal advance weights. Of course, keeping grease off the contacts is important, but correctly lubricating the points is important and very often overlooked. In fact, on nearly all distributors there is a foam pad that is supposed to be in contact with the distributor cam to provide the lubrication.
