The DCOE is made by intent for trackside tuning. Both main circuits (main jet, emulsion tube and air corrector) and both idle jets can be changed in well under a minute.....one cap (thumb screws) off, four jets screw out, four jets screw in, cap screws back on. I concur that a mechanic with experience on SU carbs can raise / lower and center the jet around the needle on that type carb (a necessary and critical operation for adjustment) in a few minutes. The primary difference between them is that the SU carbs are constant pressure (variable venturi) design, while the DCOE has a jet/circuit for each throttle position, with overlaps between them. CHANGING a jet on a DCOE is very quick and easy, but determining which venturis, jets, emulsion tubes, and air correctors to use for a particular manifold and cam can be challenging and time consuming, and a change in one circuit often requires a change in the others....books, literally, written on this process. Where we completely agree is that getting a single DCOE sorted and dialed in is an \"experience\", and triple DCOE are not for the faint at heart.
