Love the paint scheme. Reminds me of a wasp - venomous if you aren't careful. It has numerous upgrades but none of them take away from look. First glance it almost looks sort of like a stock Seven. I own Super Seven 1942 myself. The 2737 engine is very likely not the original engine. Probably from a Mk 2 Cortina. Too late for this car although it is a very late car and in the Lotus world who knows. It is a better engine than a 105E. Those were 3 main bearing engines. They upgraded to 116E engines fairly early on which were 5 main bearing. Mine is a 120E. Also most Sevens had pre-cross flow engines not crossflows. But again this is Lotus. They even made a few twin cams.\r\nHas a braced rear axle case - very good based on the performance of this rig. It had originally been owned by airline pilot based in Hawaii, and still had Hawaiian plates. It came to Pierre thru Pete Lovely. It was my daily and weekend autocross car. It came with 145 13 Dunlop SP dogbones on 3 1/2 wide Triumph Herald wheels. When I started autocrossing I had a set of 5 1/2 wheels with 820 13 Firestone race tires mounted along with wider rear fenders from Dee Wescott. Lots of TTOD\u2019s in local autocrosses with that car. Interesting note, the two different sets of tires were the same diameter, but it would pull 6500 in 4th with the skinny tires, but only about 5700 with the big tires( more frontal area and rolling resistance)\nI even drove it thru one winter here with top and side curtains (no heater, though!) A friend sold it for me after I joined the Army in \u201868. it was $2k car back then, and a hard sell as a 1500 (115 block) non cross flow was only legal in SCCA with a single Weber rather than the twin set up on the 1340, although all S7\u2019s were sold new with twin Webers as far as I know. On the windscreen vertical, the long stud should be on the top. That's where the hood straps are attached and the hood fits over the strap. So there needs to be a longer stud. However the new hood straps from Redline only use the hood bows and do not attach to the windscreen as the org do. The scuttle is not an org Lotus type as the rivets are on the front rather than the top where the bonnet sits. It might be one from Pat Prince. I know because I had one! The bell housing is an early smooth type, as such the clutch & PP are probably 71/2 inch. There appears to be a bolt missing just below the slave? The trans appears to be a \"late\" draw nut semi close, unless the internals have been changed. Fuel hoses set up to the carbs could be cleaned up a bit. Since this is a tall block, the engine may have been lowered to clear the bonnet. Can't figure why the horizontal tube on the rear A frame is bent to clear the diff. But a nice weld job. Rear axle housing, is that a Cortina or some thing else? Owner was smart to just cover the dash as drilling out the rivets you will forever hear them rattle every time you turn. Not a fan of the heat shield on the silencer.
