Welcome to my auction!\r\n\r\nI have had quite a few interesting cars pass through my garage since embarking on this journey as the shameless flipper. \r\n\r\nThe Fisker Karma stands alone. \r\n\r\nThe Karma is not for everyone. Not that it was not lust worthy or a technological tour de force, its only because they only made a few thousand of them. And too bad, because the build quality and attention to detail are only surpassed by the styling; it is a rolling work of modern art.\r\n\r\nFisker's failure in the market was not because of the quality of the product but because of a perfect storm of supply chain breakdowns, reliance on fickle government funding and personality conflicts among principals which seem to be pervasive in the boutique car business. The fragmented remnants have been picked up for surely cents on a dollar and in various forms resurrected for another try.\r\n\r\nThe good news, now almost ten years on, these American designed cars have proven to be very reliable and because of first rate materials of construction do not turn into ratty, creaking, rattle traps like some other low volume cars do. This example is like new, near mint with nary a rock chip on its gleaming white finish. The luxurious interior too, shows virtually no wear, even on the leather and suede driver's seat. Everything works flawlessly on this car.\r\n\r\nAlthough this car does have a GM Ecotec 2.0 turbocharged gasoline engine under the hood it is technically speaking, not a hybrid because it is not connected to the transmission but instead is used for charging and adding peak power to the primary electric powerplant when set to sport mode. In electric vehicle speak that is known as \"extended range\". The roof is one large solar panel and user selected levels of regenerative engine braking add to the car's overall range.\r\n\r\nIt is not the most powerful electric car nor is it the most efficient. But it is by no means slow and you would be hard pressed to find anything short of a Bentley that is more composed at high speed. The look out over the hood gives the sense of a sports car. This is indeed a four-door exotic car and more exclusive than most Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Rolls Royces and at a fraction of the price, for now at least.\r\n\r\nTime has been kind to the Karma, it is hardly dated which is what defines a classic yet it is still futuristic even by 2021 standards. This will be recognized as a highly collectible automobile.\r\n\r\nThis Fisker Karma is located in Rowlett, Texas and includes all factory accessories, books and both sets of original keys. The Karma is a Series Hybrid, aptly named so because it is truely a Hybrid. All Series Hybrids can use a second form of energy (typically gasoline) to propel the vehicle. The fact that the energy of the gasoline first gets turned into electric energy makes it a Series Hybrid. I love this car!! It is extremely comfortable and surprisingly ergonomic for a design that had no benefit of evolving. The driving experience is engaging. I\u2019m no micro-miler so I just go straight to sport. I followed my buddy out in his Cayenne Turbo. I think I startled him and by the time he overcame the turbo lag I was well ahead on the mix master sweeper. The AC is very cold and the stereo is kick ass. At 90+ mph this car is settled and composed, and quiet. I\u2019ve yet to follow this car down the road but I am certain it looks like no other car and to think I\u2019m behind the wheel of a car they didn\u2019t even produce 2000 of imbues me with a sense of privilege few cars can replicate. The neighbors are seldom surprised by what I bring home but the Fisker brings them out into the cul de sac. What is it? Happy to report that if you're a tall person, this car will most definitely provide an acceptable amount of headroom for you. There isn't enough room for a helmet, so folks taller than 6'2\" likely wouldn't be able to take the Karma out for track days where helmets are a requirement, but really, it is an excellent driver and will most certainly turn heads on every street.\r\n\r\nAs a tall person, I will say that my size 15 shoes felt a bit tight in the pedal box, but that is surely something that can be overcome with the right foot wear.\r\n\r\nThis Karma is in excellent condition. All features and materials remain in great shape. As for the paint repair to the front bumper mentioned in the seller's description, I am happy to report that you'd never know if you weren't told. There is no transition area that showed in either the brightest Texas sunlight or any amount of shade. \r\n\r\nThe plug in charger looks as though it were never used.\r\n\r\nThe suspension feel is still absolutely smooth, on a level with Bentley (albeit it is not an active system on the Karma), that could easily get you in trouble as the feel of your travel speed and road noise is far less than what you might expect your actual speed to be. \r\n\r\nThe lucky winner is going to be very happy with this specimen.
