Since these cars depreciated like crazy, by the time they were 5-8 years old, they'd fallen into the hands of what I like to call \"hundredaires.\" They got a prestigious car on the cheap, and figured they'd treat it the same way as their previous car, probably a Toyota Corolla or a Chevy Nova. \n\nBig mistake. So, the engines would go ka-blammo, due to things like bearing failure (from dirty oil), or head gaskets disintegrating (thanks to rusty/weak coolant). Now, Joe Sixpack is looking at $4000+ (in early '80s money) to have the engine rebuilt or replaced. On a car that probably wasn't even worth that much in running condition, never mind in the state of having to be towed. \n\nSo, enter the Chevy V8 conversion business. The hoses are high performance also. Question. When did the word \u201cradiator\u201d become \u201crad-eee-eight-er\u201d?\r\n\r\nA new battery was put inside of it.
