That's 50% of the households, if you are doing the math. Our home was on the east side of the street, and immediately to the south the neighbor had a new black 1956 DeSoto 4 door sedan. The neighbor immediately to the north bought a new Plymouth Fury coupe, and the neighbor to the north of them was a 4 door Dodge sedan. So, on our side of the block, three out of four had Chrysler products. We had a 1954 Mercury Monterey 4 door sedan, if you are curious.\r\n\r\nTo cap it off, the neighbor directly across from us, bought a new blue Chrysler convertible. Not sure, but I think it was a Newport. He was an attorney, so maybe he could afford a little more pleasure? This Sierra was purchased in Red Bluff, California, by the previous owner. \r\nWhat\u2019s interesting is: why would the previous owner, a Buick collector in his 80\u2019s, purchase a station wagon in California and have it shipped to Minnesota? There\u2019s a wonderful story of his search for a \u201956 Dodge Sierra Wagon, and I can provide the details as intimated to me. He loves to tell the story and I\u2019m sure he\u2019d verify the details. \r\nPer the previous owner, the California owner started the refurbishment of the car (exterior paint/chrome/stainless and interior) but passed away before completing the mechanical components of the car. The Minnesota owner bought it from a California dealer and shipped it to Minnesota to complete the refurbishment. Since he stored the \u201956 remotely, the refurbishing eventually stalled, and he decided to sell the car in 2022. PO replaced rear main seal. Didn't leak when I bought the car in 2022. After we did the engine cleaning (drain plugs removed, engine flushed/backflushed until clear/added GANO filter) it was time to change the oil. We put in Mobil 1 synthetic and WIX filter. Started seeping. Just last week had carb overhauled (accelerator pump getting weak) so decided to change oil back to the old dinosaur oil with new WIX filter. Hasn't stopped seeping yet. Probably should have left the Mobil 1 in it??? . Have to wait and see. Any leaks when it rains? Don't know. All weatherstripping replaced but car has not been in rain since we've had it (2022 & 2023) We've put over 1,200 miles on it. I don't wash a car, only use detail spray and Microfiber towels so I can't say if it leaks water anywhere. Wipers do work (motor rebuilt/variable speed and park correctly) but even on collector cars I use RainX.. Cowl vent gasket is also replaced, but again, hasn't been in any rain so can't verify if it leaks. Please ask any other questions, I'll be glad to respond.
