The engine in it is a Boss 351 with 4 bolt mains. It redlines at about 7500 and still no valve float. It produces about 430 HP and runs like a watch. It comes with it's origional wheels and engine. The AC condensor may appear big but the AC in this car really works and cost over 4500.00 to get the vent temp to about 42. It is the origional color. Actually came to Utah in the 1970's. The car has NO thru hole rust and the bottom is very good. Not mentioned are, high perf half shafts, new rear bearings(this is a big deal), new water tubes. I was told that the old wheels get brittle and can fail, totalling the car. Hense the Campy lookalikes. Early Dash-1 ratios were .96 4th and .80 5th (if my memory is correct?) but some had .96 4th and .705 5th. What does this one have? (The ratios are inscribed on a tag mounted to the shifter box cover, where the linkage enters the gearbox on the left side).\n\nDash-1 gearboxes got a bum rap and an unearned reputation for fragility. The Dash-2 is certainly more robust, and parts are cheaper and more available (still eye-wateringly expensive), but there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Dash-1 as long as the clutch is set up properly. Oddly, it requires the use of a Ford pressure plate and a Chevy-pattern disc, while the Dash-2 uses a Pantera-specific disc with a Ford spline pattern. The input shaft on the Dash-1 isn\u2019t long enough to reach the back of the engine, so an adapter/spacer must be used, several inches long, between the nose of the input shaft and the pilot bearing in the end of the crank. The engine was built by a very well known race engine builder with records on the salt flats. Dave Mott. He said it would wind to about 8500 before floating. I've only had it to 7000. It was still pulling like a clydesdale. Most of the upgrades came from Pantera international in Ca. They are a goldmine of how to set up a Pantera the way you want and supply all kinds of goodies. The car came from the Lincoln dealer in Los Ageles in 1971. (O' Conner). Came to Utan in 1975. Been here ever since. Though not corrosion free, it's very good with NO visable rust or bubbling. No sheet metal has been replaced.
