He used it lightly over the years, kept it around his vacation place in northern Maine to use around town over the summer months, run errands, drive in parades, hauling a canoe to the river etc. It was always stored inside. He parked it about 10 years ago; no particular reason just wasn't using it enough to keep the battery charged and gas fresh. in late 2018 he was losing his storage place so I bought it from him; I wanted to see it back on the road. So I did all the stuff described above and its back to being a good driver. Everyone loves an old truck so its a fun vehicle to own.\r\n\r\nThe truck is very period correct. This was important to the PO and I have followed along. The only additions we know of are the lap belts and improved hose clamps that I used during the recent work. The tires are bias ply and of the original size in keeping with the period correct theme. I will ask BAT to correct the listing.\r\n\r\nThe truck is very solid. The underbody pictures show surface rust. The frame is solid and the floor pans are not perforated/thinning. Bed support, fenders, running boards are all good. The rear cab corner rework has held up well for 40 plus years and looks okay on a driver truck such as this.\r\n\r\nThe previous owner will be helping me with questions that come up during the auction. The guy my buddy bought the truck from told him \u201csome hippie had painted it bright yellow\u201d...that would have been in the 60\u2019s. There is evidence of yellow here and there, near the tailgate for example. But not where the black paint is now; that only has green under it. So maybe the roof was painted black by the hippie to go with the bright yellow body. Then the yellow was covered by tan.\r\n\r\nWhoever painted the roof was going for a vinyl look as the black has texture to it. It\u2019s come off in some spots, flaking on the top. A few dime sized spots of surface rust.
