We changed the Timing belts, drive belts and VC cover gaskets, distributor gaskets. The Valves were checked and in spec, since they were just done. We changed the oil and flushed the Antifreeze as well. I will say the fluids looked new that came out. The drive video I did about 10 days ago, I can put up another tomorrow. The car runs great and is very smooth. Of all the Ferrari cars the timing belt service on this model is one of the easiest to do. All the gauges work properly and the car is dry underneath. I purposely cleaned teh floor after it was run on the lift and let it set the last couple days and there was no drops of fluid on the floor. I do want to say that this is almost a 50-year-old Ferrari, they require maintenance and care, and they do drip. But currently this one is very dry. The AC system was empty when we took the compressor off for the service. Tomorrow we will convert to R134 and see if it holds. I have been buying tires from Longstone for over 16 years and I have found that they are the best! I am also uber impressed at their shipping rates ... either free or less than $100 ... especially so given the bulkiness and awkwardness of tires. This is even more impressive given that they are located in the UK and I am in Canada. Interestingly, I have received tires from them faster than standard mail from the US/Europe :). Another factor which I believe contributes to their great support is that they are very much into vintage cars...and I mean really vintage in terms of autos from the 30's and older. They do not just putter around in these cars, but race them... at speed no less. It is one thing to take an older car that has a suspension setup not overly different than most of the cars of today, but the very old autos are more akin to a tractor suspension... which is minimal at best. Coupling this with outside gear shifting wooden spoked rims and you really have to have true grit to keep the car on the road at any speed let alone at race speeds. Removing the above, along with lightweight BBS racing wheels shod with BF Goodrich R1s (225 50 VR 16s) made a noticeable difference in acceleration and responsiveness. As I mentioned in an earlier post, in the early 90s, after contracting a severe case of the \u201cred mist\u201d, I turned her into a full-blown track car: 2100 lbs, full roll cage, halon system, aero and suspension mods, supercharger, slicks, etc. (oh my!)\u2026 never to be the same again!\r\nThe Dino GT4 was a well designed coup\u00e9, with inherently balanced driving dynamics ( as also noted by Matt Crandall [911r] ), with a touch of practicality having a back seat (for duffel bags or a set of clubs) a la Porsche 911.
