It is a two tone scheme he is known for and he is a genius car builder. It looks better to my eye on some cars than on others. As for the wheels and tires, I think we all have a vision in our own heads about what a particular car should look like. To me, a GTO should have fat Cragars, red paint, a rag top and full of Monkees because I was raised watching that show, but the owner of this car was obviously influenced in different ways. I bought this one 6 years ago with the paint scheme you see there. It isn't my cup of tea either, so I won't take any of the harsh judgements on my taste personally! What i saw was a beautiful car underneath the makeup and my dream was to drive her forever. When we got her the gauges had been disconnected as the previous owner had been fixing the dash, we primarily focused on getting to work on making her drive nicely before we tackled aesthetic. I would have loved to restore it back to all black as some of you mentioned. I understand the look is not popular but just as I thought when I bought her its something you can change easily enough, I just didn't get to the paint, and paint aside, the car itself is so FUN to drive! It is a real head turner.\r\n\r\nWe wanted to be honest so we showed pictures of everything. And yes to a comment below, the day that the scratch appeared on my door I went on a full scale manhunt I was so mad! :-) \r\n\r\nWe are trying to get answers on the year of the engine, we think its a '70 but are going to look into it and try to answer as many questions as we can for the potential bidders. Please stand by for that, we will get as much as possible. I never anticipated selling her so I didn't know what details to share, thank you for the precise questions.\r\n\r\nThis car makes such a hearty sound and smells amazing every time I pass it in the garage, good 'ol American oil and steel. I will miss that! We ourselves had the transmission rebuilt and had all of the undercarriage maintained and cleaned up. It was already in good condition but we went and had it all worked on.
