Take a good look at that empty engine compartment pic to see how easy it is to extract the V4 - try that on any other car. Having had 95 wagon for awhile here in SJ Ca, it was my second one after a 93 a friend gave me in return for hauling it off the fway where it died on him one day - but that was 1970, and I knew squat about them then. Being a ringadinger, it had me baffled when I couldn't get it running. Fresh into my new career job and renting an above-garage apt. with little space for even my '63 ID19 wagon and '62 BMW R60 bike I'd just imported from a pre-job 1 month of travel from London-France, Holland, Denmark to Stockholm before my 35 yr corp. incarceration, I gave it a go but no luck. No internet at the time to help me, so having to buckle down & learn all the aspects of engineering plastics to earn my pay, I had to scrap it and that still hurts to this day, especially since my genes are all Swedes. As somebody quipped \"you can always tell a Swede, but you can't tell them much!\". If I hadn't been swayed by my dear Dad into a lifetime of French cars and other oddballs, I'd have stashed that car away til I had a place to \r\noverhaul it. The door latch & window lift should be an easy fix - probably just need a good lube job - done dozens over yrs & only found one stripped sector gear - on a Humber Super Snipe - but that's typical for a lot of Brit cars where they use a system stressed lightly on one brand & then try to get twice the load out of it on an upscale model with heavier glass, stickier guide channels & other issues, such as potmetal gears where only steel will work. This seller has done a helluva lot of work & Saabs are so tough in general that this one will live a lot longer in the right hands. Plus their heaters make every other car's feel like a 20 watt hair dryer - it'd be perfect for iceracing the frozen lakes of Wisconsin-Illinois, where the Saabs used to wax my fanny in the late '60s - their Pbrake turns in the corners on ice always lined them up perfectly for the straights on Lake Geneva. My Cits let me down there even with their FWD as my Pbrake was on the front discs - no help at all. Ran against a lot of 99s and even a Ro80 one day - actually smacked into him when he showed up late so missed practice on the 18 in. deep plowed-out course. With no practice laps, & having effectively stolen the car from a shop where he worked, he decided to try out the Ro's Wankel & FWD. Starting last due to late showup, we were quickly lapping him when, right out of a corner into the only long straight, he stuffed it just as I accelerated to pass a 99 & the only place i could go was into his RR corner. I buggered that & my LF fender, but mine was an easy fix vs his structural quarter & trunk. Another driver came to commiserate with me & say he knew where there was a Ro parts car so I ran to tell the other driver to help him out, but he'd already left. Only then did someone tell me he didn't even own the car!
