Here's a few quick confirmations having read through the thread. First off, the engine is a 5 main bearing from a 63 MGB. It has a non-syncro first gear as many of you figured out. The car was driven extensively throughout Oregon and Washington, year after year to GOF events (Gathering of the Faithful), as my dad had been a TC/TD nut and owner for 55 of his 80 years. Dad bought this car for its usability, and he and mom drove it and drove it and drove it. I've taken it from my home to my office, via I-5, several times. I would NEVER do so with a stock TD's power and lack of braking. He adored this car for it's cues from the 30's era of MG's, its body from the '50's and the drivetrain and brakes of the next-gen MG. He called it the 'original resto-mod'. \r\nIt has always been cared for kept in strong mechanical condition. There are no side curtains, but before passing he reminded me they were available from Moss Motors. The car also has 3 horns, 2 on the dash and an English announcement Bell mounted below the driver's floor with a button pushed on the floor near the seat. I'll watch for more questions.
