This is a fully insured company I deal with.\r\n\r\nHere is a quick run down of the car:\r\n\r\nIt was sold new at Courtright Buick in Glen Falls, NY. It was acquired by Ray Fauber in 1976. Ray Fauber had a stellar 100 + car collection full of low mileage / delivery mileage GM vehicles. I am sure some of you are familiar with his collection and the high quality cars he kept. He purchased a few brand new cars per year and parked them to stay in new condition. This was his first collector car. \r\n\r\nThe drive ability of this car is excellent. It starts up great and handles the road just as it should. The tires are original and I recommend replacing if you do plan on driving the car. \r\n\r\nThis car retains all original paint, original chrome & brightwork, original EZ glass, etc. It is a true time capsule. Please view the paint meter readings on each panel. \r\n\r\nThe interior is all original and in superb condition. It still smells like a new 1955 Buick inside. \r\n\r\nI have been around classic cars my whole life. This car is a true gem. Hope that's allowed ~\nWith two Buick Super Rivieras gracing BaT currently here's a quick 50's Buick primer - Lots of folks see an older Buick with 4-holes (Ventiports) and think \"Ooh, it's a Roadmaster\" while, the truth is that beginning in 1955 the top three lines - Roadmaster, Super & Century all had 4 and the Special alone had 3. (Prior to that only the RM had 4) Those top 3 had a 322 c.i. (236 hp) engine, the Special a 264 (188 hp). The top 2 were built on a 127\" wheelbase, the others on a 122\". So, the Century with the bigger engine on the shorter (and presumably lighter) underpinnings was a sort of \"factory hot rod\" and the pre-war version is thought by some to be an early \"muscle car\". All 1955 (and '54) Buicks were V-8s. In the first year of Buick V-8 production, 1953, only the Special had soldiered along with the older straight-eight architecture. Everyone is familiar with the '63 Buick Riviera, a standalone model in the \"personal luxury\" category but earlier \"Riviera\" meant \"hardtop\" and they were available across all model levels. Later Rivieras (1974+) weren't all pillarless as rollover protection started to be a consideration. In 1955 \"Dynaflow\" transmission was still \"optional\" on the bottom three lines (standard on the Roadmaster) and I believe most other differences between the top two were largely cosmetic. On the first year of \"Highway Patrol\" Dan Matthews drove a Century two-door sedan. Those were only available to the CHP; all two door Centuries were hardtops (or convertibles, obviously).
