The instrument panel is that of the 1959-60 Lark, and the Champ retained this IP through 1964, it did not get the revised IP of the 1961 Lark.\r\n\r\nIt was an example of innovative thinking under tight budgetary limitations, and made for a handsome pickup in my opinion. It was originally red, but repainted in the Studebaker Glade Green color which is a nice green/blue. The interior was redone in all black, very nice but not factory correct in color. It originally had a 6 in it too, but the previous owner swapped it to a 259 V8 when he restored it, with a 3pd O/D trans. I got the truck several years back from him basically 90% done, but kept in the garage never driven. It took me a bit to get it running well after having sat for so long, but it looked basically factory new and it runs pretty well now. I still need to do a few last things to get the truck more done, like carpeting, paint the tailgate lettering and fix the radio. You all know how it goes, someday I'll get to it. I'm also in the long process of having a 289 R2 supercharged motor built for it, hopefully will be getting that soon. So that will be a project.\n\nThis is a great looking truck and it looks like it was pretty well done. The interior looks like it is pretty stock and given that it was done in 80's is probably all NOS material. I like that rubber mat in the bed, might try to get one of those myself.\n\nIf I had the space to spare and was slightly more deranged than I already am, I'd be tempted on this. I'm tempted anyway, just trying to resist the urge, lol. In the 70s It was given to the nephew of the deceased with 19000 miles who brought it back to life. He then sold it to a gentleman in Twin Falls, Idaho who restored it. It was then sold to a gentleman in Oregon. After it was restored it was on display at Northwest Vintage Car and Motorcycle Museum at Antique Powerland in Brooks, Oregon for 6 months.
