So I had an idea based on the pictures that were put on the website. It turns out the pictured supplied by the seller were aged! When I received the Imperial, some of the windows would not go down, boot was missing, rust hole in trunk etc. By that time the vehicle was paid for and I had no recourse. Buyer beware. This was the second vehicle I purchased at Saratoga, but no more. This action was a new thing for them and not run as it should have been.\r\nIt is a good driver, not a show car. Could be though. There's not really much to lose if it doesn't work.\r\n\r\nFor the trunk hole, it looks like it's missing the counterweight on that side - see picture of the driver's side. Convertibles had a heavy counterweight at each rear corner for handling, I think. If I had to guess, the corrosion is probably from moisture and dirt getting trapped between the weight (now missing) and the floor. It might be a good idea to check the floor on the other side for the same problem.\r\n\r\nBefore driving this a long distance or at high speed, the new owner should look into a dual master cylinder conversion. It's very straightforward and can be done with 67+ Mopar hardware, so it doesn't look out of place. As a fellow northerner, the corrosion here doesn't look egregious, but the current (single pot) brake system only needs one leak to completely fail.\r\n\r\nThat said, this looks like a car that would be a lot of fun as it is. I own an Imperial in similar condition and it gets nothing but smiles. May not win best in show, but who really needs trophies to collect dust, anyway?
