As to the comment on the engine revving to much on a trip to Alaska. These bikes were made during the 55-60 speed limit of the past. They work a little high in the rpm range with the current flow of traffic at the 75-85 mph range but a fairly easy solution is to put in the German fifth gear. This drops the rpm range to easily cruise the bike at the higher speeds. I have put the lower first gear in bikes also, but the lower first gear to me is not as useful as the taller fifth gear.
