Something is off with the combo of grille and lights here. Must be deep bucket grilles from an earlier car maybe? The other issue with the grilles is the alternating black covers on the slats. There are maybe 7 on each side to take the shine off of off consecutive (and I think the last three at the bottom) slats. Not that it has to be the way it was from the factory but just saying the all anodized aluminum slats was really early 2002. Houndstooth always seems to get everyone all excited. Not me....I never thought it matched a single BMW exterior. But this a pretty car for sure and I would be proud to own it. And I would want to know before bidding, not after winning the auction and getting the receipts, which from the only photo that shows receipts shows some from pelican parts, who I don't think do kugelfischer work.\r\n\r\nAlso I would be curious to know the age of the tires, because as much as I have looked I never saw a goodyear or pirelli tire in 185/70r13 available in the US in the past few years. And studys done by the NHTSA and other groups show that tires are at higher risk of failure as they age regardless of tread depth or any other visible signs of age. If you're looking at cars for sale if the tires are older than 6 years, factor in the cost of new tires to your purchase cost because they could be going bad internally from oxidation of the rubber.\r\n\r\nAnd like other cars that have been resprayed and had the interior redone, but still have a lot of little things here and there that could be done. When deciding how much the car is worth to you don't underestimate the cost of small things and only look at big things like the dashboard when comparing this car to a fully restored car. The little piece of trim missing on the side of the passenger seat fold forward lever is I think 35 dollars from most US parts sellers, if you buy it from walloth nesch in germany its only 5 euros or something but you need to buy a few more things at the same time to make the shipping cost worth it. The little things can add up quickly.\r\n\r\nIf the door seals were replaced, that would make the doors harder to close. None of the new seals, even the ones from BMW work as well as the original seals, because it's too expensive to make them the original way for small numbers of sales. In any case, I think you dodged a bullet with this one. Look closely at the interior pics. Signs of rust, corrosion, pitting and moisture. Interior not put back together well; carpet, console, passenger seat back. Rust in ash trays an on air conditioner and controls. Dirt and grim all over dah and controls.
