I heard it once described as rolling equivalent of the pillsbury dough boy. From a design perspective, it was a low budget attempt (porsche was nearly broke in the early 90's) to swallow the impact bumpers that were first required by DOT regulations in 1974. But, having said that, the widebody variant presents itself as very proportional and holds itself very well. It is also incredibly fun to drive. Much less lag than the older 930's and considerably more sure footed when pressed into turns. I have a 964 3.6 Turbo in the stable as well as 993 TT. Although the 993 outperforms the 964 in almost everyway, there is something about the 964 that is down right fun to drive. Let's see a record for a non \"S\" 3.6 Turbo set today. The older I get the more I realize how much more fun it is to have one of these in the garage vs the money in the bank. He claimed he bought it in 1998 and then subsequently sold it in April 2023 which explains why the car moved around so much on carfax. The current owner is at best the 3rd owner. In addition, when I saw the car he explained the car had a mishap when it was being serviced at Manhattan Motorcars and they had to paint the left fender and left driver\u2019s door. He also explained that the old seats were making him slide around so that explains why the new seats look so great, don\u2019t exactly fit right, and have crests in the headrests which the car wasn\u2019t optioned with.
