The car drives very well, not a scratchy syncro in the trans the engine pulls strong. When we replaced the engine some years back we also put in new seals and gaskets but did not remove the head as it ran perfectly as it does now. The gas tank was cleaned as well. Not surprised about rust repair on hatch, water hangs under the lip and rusts out the bottom edge. They drive nicely, but definitely feel old even when you compare to something from the early 1990's. Visibility is not great, especially when I think of my 1992 Integra with its low cowl and thin pillars. The Integra with CAI and header/catback makes more power than the 82's 145 and probably almost matches the 84's 160. Coming from a Lancia Beta Coupe with Lucas \"Prince of Darkness\" electronics and Fiat reliablity, I made a decision to purchase the car after reading R & T's long-term driving test of a 1982. I still remember the article italicized the statement that absolutely nothing went wrong during the 6-month long-term test, during which as many as 5,000 miles were put on the car in a month and a total of 48,000 miles for the long-term test (this may still be a record for all I know).\n\nCorky Bell turbocharged my car in my third year of ownership. At 11 psi (Corky only recommended 9) with slightly larger injectors, the car made 250 whp. Mind you, this was a 3,045-pound car, with a 4.10:1 ring and pinion and the '84 C4 Corvette made 205 hp at the crank. I never lost a race in that car, but I lost the car when she was stolen almost 7-years to the day of purchasing her. Twenty-three years later, I purchased an '85 with 54k miles. Jim himself is a very decent and believable guy, so as they say, a \u2018straight shooter\u2019. \r\nI didn\u2019t spend much time sighting along the car or tossing fridge magnets at it, so i can\u2019t say how extensive any pre-paint job bodywork was or wasn\u2019t, or even pre-ownership work.. Jim fired it up, it fired well, idled well. I did not drive the car.\r\nYes it has no A/C pump or condensor, also no radio.. the antenna is loose, Jim pointed that out. The hood and hatch and 2 doors do indeed open and close. I did find the drivers window to be a little crotchety, my term for yes, it goes up and down.. but it has been indeed used many many times. I recall the passenger window being similar.. but possibly my memory is bad. Ask Jim to check. He will check, and you can believe what he says. As pointed out by a few commenters.. the car has miles. What that means for the buyer going forward, that\u2019s a question for the buyer.. The interior has a few glitches, and some overspray, as fully disclosed in Jim\u2019s photos. How difficult would a high quality interior refit be, how expensive, ( what\u2019s obtainable, what\u2019s not?) and would it be worth it.. ? I can\u2019t answer those. How long will the paint job stand up if the vehicle is driven and subjected to sun and rain? Jim informed that Maaco has its $200 \u2018enjoy it fast\u2019 paint option, and this better one.. \r\nBeyond that, we are only guessing.. \r\nWill i bid? I may.
