All door skins were replaced and everything was primed. The car was painted in a turquoise color which was an original Mini color. The wood on the car was ordered from England and a professional wood restorer stained it and installed it. Once the exterior was done, the car was ceramic coated. I spent over $16,000.00 to fix the body of the car. Someone different replaced the engine and redid the interior of the car. DJ's Mini Parts in Wesley Chappel Florida restored the interior and substituted some generic parts so it is not entirely original or perfect. The seats are original Mini seats but they were not restored in original vinal material. In the video of starting the car you can see the knob to the right of the key has a fan picture on it but it is actually a choke. I installed seat belts in the car which are not original. The car leaks a little oil but I have owned several British cars and they say if it's English and if it doesn't leak oil than it is out of oil. I put way too much money in this car and I don't want to put any more into it. Being an early car I\u2019d be pretty sure that the Heritage records would be available. \r\n\r\nSomeone asked about the brakes. It does seem strange that the seller would not just go and look rather than post an excuse??? A more unscrupulous person may then take this info, have a chassis plate made, attach it to a pile of rusty metal and look for a suitable mark.\r\n\r\nA comment was made that \" \u2026about the only thing original on the car is the early fuel tank\u2026 Maybe (not really) but only as long as you ignore the correct roof, boot floor, original chassis number (allowing that it\u2019s not in the right place and *could* have been transferred from another car (pretty unlikely given the other clues). \r\n\r\nUnfortunately there are no official records of FE numbers - although some private data bases allow FE numbers to be correlated with approximate build dates.
