The parking brake is weak and I wouldn't trust any parking brake on a hill like that in a car that old. I've had that brick longer than the car and have used it in other cars. The brick also serves as an extra safety measure as I've got young ones and you never know. . .\n\n@ darthmustang Horn is definitely overrated. A few times I've been at a light behind someone not paying attention. Instead of a horn, if you goose the engine a little, it works just as well as sounds better anyway. I can tell you a little about horn issue and someone more mechanically inclined than me can probably diagnose it. I think it may be a loose wire somewhere. When I bought the car, it didn't work. For years, I never fixed it, but eventually when it was in for service, I had my mechanic look at it. He fixed it (fairly easily he claimed) and it worked for about three days. On the fourth day, I was making a turn and then it just started to blare (as I was driving by a cop if I remember correctly). I hit the horn and it would stop, but kept getting worse. I eventually pulled the connectors at the two horns. That was fine for the day, but then I realized I was draining the battery. I disconnected it at the regulator(?) maybe. My father and I fiddled with it at the steering wheel, but couldn't get it to work. It's never really bothered me. Engine, plus the finger have always worked well for me.\n\n@poweredbyFord. I will try to get those. There is a picture of the chassis number. I plugged that number in when I did the original application because I was too lazy to go out to the garage to get it and then get timed out of the application, and forgot to fix it. As for engine, it is the correct engine for the car. I have always assumed it's the original engine, but don't know if there is a way to tell without taking off valve covers. 442bro.com has alot of good information about 65 442's and I've decoded options, etc. to confirm real 442 and real colors, floor mounted 4-speed, no console, etc., but didn't see a way to answer originality question for that make and model. I'll check on anything I can if you let me know.\n\nGuys this is my first time selling. Nervous and excited. It's a great car, sweet sounding engine and starts right up every time. It's not perfect, but it wouldn't take much to take it to the next level. We've had it in many a local parade, and it's a favorite at local car shows, as it's rare to see another Oldsmobile at a show, let alone a 65. I've got a nice embroidered car cover that'll go with it as well. It once lived in a west coast collection, where all the cars had matching covers with 65 442 sewn on front. Also, I live 5 minutes from where the BAT gathering at the Mitty will take place. As we were inspecting it, I got to talking with one of the guys that maintained the collection and he said that it was one of the owner's favorite cars to actually drive. We've enjoyed it a lot. I've also got a set of red seatbelts for the rear seat I never installed and will include those. Mine had the 455 in it. It was an amazing cruiser, but cornering and stopping were not what you would call strong points. Much can be said of the aerodynamics, but at 70 MPH, with the top and windows down and the wing windows *rolled!* out about 20%, you could have a normal conversation with your passenger (who was sitting several feet away from you). There was surprisingly little leg room in the back seat, but you could lay down comfortably across it if you wanted. The lack of legroom made the trunk adequate for 3 bodies and their golf clubs. \r\n\r\nMine came with the original engine (425 I think) on a pallet, and a spare door among other items. The glass on the door was a solid 1/4 inch thick. The door required two strong guys to haul around.
