It came from another long time previous owner. If the car meets reserve and sells I will put the buyer in contact with the previous owner if they desire. This is what he sent me:\r\n\r\n\u201c Well it is great to know the car has gone to a good home and I hope you intend on using it, having fun with and just driving it as we have done for so many years.\r\n\r\nXxxxx xxxx bought it as part of a 3 car, 1932 deal including 2, 3 Window Coupes and the Roadster. All of these were basically stock body and chassis cars with basically just the Flathead engines replaced with small block Chevrolet engines.\r\n\r\nOver the years, very minor things were done to them to enhance their driving capability and safety concerns but still retaining the originality and history of each one.\r\n\r\nSince that time, this Roadster got basically the front axle, brakes, wheels and tires changed and some additional 12V wiring. He drove the car this way occasionally for many years.\r\n\r\nBack in about 2000 or so we redid my Roadster and Jon let me drive this car for an entire summer enjoying events like Good Guys Columbus, Woodward Dream Cruise, many weekly cruise nights and numerous local day shows. I am a big guy and I just didn't fit in the car too well so we altered the seat back and bottom to achieve some additional 3\" or so of leg room and that really helped. You will also see xxxx changed the steering column to a 20 degree angle to better fit the driver in the more relaxed position while in the car. We typically build every car we do like this as this is basically what every new production vehicle has today and it is much more comfortable when driving.\r\n\r\nOver time we updated the gauges and dash to be able to monitor everything without concern especially driving at night.\r\n\r\nThe car is a good cruiser to about 65 - 68 MPH but then the stock 32 transmission and 32 rear end make the engine run with quite a bit higher RPM so it just doesn't feel right going faster. This car would benefit from a Tremec T-5 trans with a 2.95 first gear and a 37% overdrive 5th to make it the ultimate vintage cruiser. I was just at the GNRS in Pomona earlier this year. You see EVERYTHING there and talk to old timers.\r\n30s to the early 50s flatly V8s ruled...then there were Caddy, Olds, (Buicks) and then Chevies. By 56, 57 unless you had an exceptional flathead you were outrun.\r\nThis history fits this car.
