I bought it with all the options except I got the standard shift with overdrive instead of the automatic. It drove better than the Porsche 911 except for acceleration and top speed. Yes, on a mountain road, it handled better than the Porsche 911. It I got 15 in town and 26mpg highway but could get better than 30mpg if driven above 70. Pulling a tent trailer like it wasn't there I still got 24mpg. Notice the rear part of the engine is under the cowl. The Pacer was designed for a rotary engine. It would have been sourced from GM. GM Reneged on the deal. Just as well. GM scrapped the Rotary due to many problems. Thus the shorten front end. The 6cyl/8 cyl had to be stuffed in at the last minute.
