I also remember that car had blackwall tires, courtesy of the Korean War.\n\nTo me at the time, it looked quite futuristic, especially when compared to a 1951 Mercury coupe.\n\nAccording to my Car Catalog, there were 30,599 Custom coupes and 24,253 Monterey coupes for the 1952 model year.\n\nThis car that is up for auction looks to be a really nice example.
