He loved it so much, he kept it for years and years, using it only sparingly. Time passed a few kids came along, he moved to a new house, job got crazy, and well...the Mustang just sat at the side of the garage gathering leaves and cobwebs. \n\nOne day his wife calls me and says she wants to surprise her husband and get the Mustang cleaned up, running, and restored. Would I come over while he's out of town and get it towed over to a shop to surprise him? He'll be back in two days. \n\nRather than get a shop to do the work and pay for work I knew I could do, I told her I would do it myself. I boxed some tools, drove over to the house, walked up to the car installed a new battery, dropped in some fuel, cleared the car off, and started it up. About five minutes after the smoke cleared, the car settled into running smoothly and I aired up the tires, slipped it into drive and off I drove...fomp fomp fomp (flat spots) to the tire store. New tires and some brake adjustments and back home to where I scrub-detailed the interior of the car and the next day washed and waxed it up. \n\nWhen he arrived the following day, he was ecstatic to see the car and surprised how clean it was. He uses it regularly to this day. \n\nIf ever there was a car that was durable, good looking, easy to drive, easy to fix, and exciting to nearly everyone - car people or not, the Mustang is it. No other car evokes more stories, smiles, or happiness than a Mustang.
