He wanted a SWB and it had to be as original as possible but wanted it to \u201cmatch\u201d his GT3 - thus the slate grey paint and houndstooth on Black Interior. \r\nIn 2016 I acquired the body from another local shop who had held onto it for many years because it was accident free and virtually rust free (very rare in longhoods). When we cleaned off the sealers, paint and accumulated junk the only rust we found were pinholes in the driver side floor. To be sure we replaced the floors. It was then bare metaled and resprayed in its current color which remains perfect to this day. As would be obvious from the photos every single part down to the last bolt was either restored or replaced. The engine was completely rebuilt in-house and the transaxle was sent to Bob Jones at Autowerks here in SA for rebuild and set-up. The instruments were restored by Hollywood Instruments. All suspension and brake components are new except the torsion bars (which were still fine) and calipers (which were restored with new parts). Wherever possible, OE parts were used in the rebuild process. The interior is all new as is the fuel tank and windscreen. If I\u2019ve missed anything let me know. \r\n\r\nAnyway, at the end of all this my client ran into some financial difficulties and much as he loved it asked if I knew anyone who might be interested in buying the car. I knew that a SWB with bones this solid came along - never. I bought it back.
