I've only spent a limited amount of time in an S54 MCoupe (mostly on track), but daily-drove my M54 3.0 Coupe for a couple of years. Both of them seemed to have the same issue: The drive-by-wire throttle was really good... about 90% of the time. The other 10% the computer and I would have very different ideas about what my right foot had \"said\", and the car would respond a bit more \"emphatically\" than I was prepared for. I acknowledge the fault was likely really with the nut-behind-the-wheel, but every now and then she'd get away from me.\n\nI *think* the ECU not only interprets pedal-angle, but maybe something with slope (rate of change), so even though you might have only given it half-throttle, you got a different response if you rolled into it versus moving the pedal quickly.
