The Si (my first brand new car in 1986, when my 1985.5 never came in that I was on the wait list for) had just over 90hp. And the 2nd gen CRX Si's I had, actually 'broke 100' horsepower... though both were plenty quick and fun. \r\n\r\nIn later years, the CRZ hybrid should have been called the CRX.... and they should have first introduced an all gas Si version (the 'new' CRX Si) and followed shortly after (and after all the huge positive press for bringing back the CRX Si) with the hybrid one, and called it the CRX HF again (this time for 'Hybrid Fuel-economy' instead of the original 'High Fuel-Economy'. Honda would have sold 3 times as many, better justifying the stand-alone body of the CRZ (guessing about half Si's and half HF... yes.... counting that the hybrid sales would have increased just from the extra positive creed the Si comeback would have generated). \r\n\r\nHonda does not 'miss' too much (at least on product, more often on marketing/packaging/model names and such).... so I hate to see those missed opportunities for them to have had another great success that would be a permeant positive model mark on their history to go with the other great ones. I kept it only six months and dumped it for a Chrysler minivan.\r\n\r\nThe CR-Z was initially fun with its sharp steering and crisp 6-speed. And it was practical with the hatch, as you'd expect.\r\n\r\nBut ultimately I found the CR-Z to be far too loud, with terribly unsupportive seats that leaned forward toward the steering wheel instead of tilting back. And despite being a hybrid, it simply didn't deliver the mileage I had hoped for, even when hypermiling. For a car so small, and hybrid, I expected to easily get high 40's, but rarely did.\r\n\r\nLastly, it had really spooky handling. \r\n\r\nWhen pushed, it would suddenly transition to oversteer that was difficult to catch.
