I also figured it would be much more usable in day to day driving than a Ferrari 400. Three things kept me from the sale:\n1) The driving experience was underwhelming. It felt like a garden variety GM sedan,\n2) It was a hideous dark metallic brown with dark brown leather interior. If it had had dark brown shag carpeting it could have doubled as a dreary mancave.\n3) It wasn't a Ferrari 400 and it just seemed to be \"trying too hard\".\nThis little Fiat checks all the right boxes though. (Perhaps even Ferrari realizes that there is only so much you can charge for gaskets without enraging people?) Repairing and servicing it has been pretty straightforward in terms of parts availability. We had a lot of trouble finding the rear glass, which I mentioned below, and we had a little trouble finding a transmission mount at one point, but ultimately everything was available. Interestingly, we were working on the car here, in Spain, and many of the parts I needed ended up coming from the USA. It seems that parts availability for these might actually be better in the US than here.\n\nThe 130 coupe is a pretty rare car. Less than 4500 were ever made, and the vast majority were automatic-equipped. No firm data seems to exist on the breakdown, but everyone I have spoken with on this side of the pond estimates somewhere between 80% and 90% automatics, which, if accurate, even on the generous side, would make this one of less than 900 five-speed coupes. Considering those kinds of numbers, the fact that it only took me a couple weeks to find a manual transmission mount is fairly impressive, I think.\n\nIt's a lovely car to drive. A true grand tourer in the classic Italian sense. It is remarkably roomy and comfortable inside, the rear seat is large enough for adults, and the trunk is big. I think what struck me the most, though, is the roadholding. It has one of the most perfect ride/handling compromises I have ever experienced. It turns in very flat and the size of the car disappears in the bends, but it maintains a great deal of compliance over bumps and pavement irregularities. It's a wonderful car to cover a lot of ground in.\n\nOf all the cars we've done, and there have been a lot now, my wife has only wanted to keep two. As far as I can see, on mine, the rear lenses are individual pieces; it looks like you can simply swap the position of the white and red lenses and be done with it. Horn button on the center console switches from electric \"in-town\" horn to air-driven \"autobahn\" horn. As much as I love the orange interior, mine came with originally optioned black leather; not quite as 70s Italian cool, but looks great and gives the car a more serious look, and it sounds like some folks just couldn't handle the velour look anyway. I love the car, and this looks like a particularly nice example. If the buyer contacts me, I can tell you where to source the chrome seat hinge covers, which are missing in these photos. Parts availability is a bit of a nightmare, given that most of the drivetrain isn't shared with any other model, other than the rear suspension with the Dino.
