My thoughts and comments are solely the result of my own experience and research.\r\n\r\nFollowing a PTU failure and after much research I determined a rebuild by SS Autotech (https://www.ssautotech.co.uk/ferrari-ff-ptu-rebuild.html) is a \u201cbetter than new\u201d option for the owner of a Ferrari FF or GTC Lusso experiencing PTU failure.\r\n\r\nIn the event of a PTU failure the options are\r\n\r\n1. Replace the PTU with a new Ferrari PTU for about $50,000 - this option does nothing to address the underlying problem that caused the failure in the first place (I.e., parts and systems that are prone to break and/or otherwise fail).\r\n\r\n2. Rebuild the PTU with replacement Ferrari parts. This costs about 1/2 the price of a total replacement but does nothing to address the underlying engineering and manufacturing issues that led to the failure. See point 1 above.\r\n\r\n3. Rebuild the PTU with reengineered and newly manufactured parts that make another failure extremely unlikely.\r\n\r\nIn terms of reliability SS Autotech has rebuilt over 65 PTU\u2019s over the last 4 years, all of which from my understanding are still on the road. They offer a 1 year warranty (see my listing for details) and are very user friendly and easy to work with. SS Autotech are engineers with a passion for cars, have done a great deal of research and development and definitely know what they are doing.
