My car had rust issues which were clearly identified and discussed in detail, and it sold well. I think the difference was that I did my best to be proactive and to answer every point as fast as possible without any salesman B.S. The experience with the auction taught me several things. First, the transparency offered by the dialogue between buyer and seller makes the BaT auctions the best platform in the US, and perhaps the world. It's almost impossible to hide issues or gray areas, and the buyer can make an informed decision with a confidence that is not available on any other internet auction site. The other take away for me is that the seller has to stay in control of the auction through active dialogue with the people who have taken the time to comment, either negatively or positively about the car. If the seller loses control then the commenters will take over and the end result is sometimes not desirable.
