The way I've been driving the twin-stick has all felt pretty natural. There is no synchro on 1st gear. So, I only engage 1st when at a complete stop. I thought that would be weird, but you only need 1st if you're at a complete stop and not pointing down even a tiny hill. So, I spend most of my time on the road shifting between 2nd and 3rd. Once I'm on the highway at around 65mph, I engage the clutch and shift the overdrive lever down/back. I think this gives about a 30% change in the gear ratio. You can feel the RPM's reduce and she cruises comfortably at 75mph. When I have hit some highway traffic, I just keep overdrive in and shift again between 3rd and 2nd as needed. Both gears are 30% taller than their non-overdrive ratio at that point. If you drop below a certain speed, she disengages overdrive automatically. It all feels quite smooth and natural once you've driven it a minute. I am sure there are fancier ways to use it to really feel like you're getting five speeds out of it, but I don't see the point. The glass packs are as long as we could fit to make sure the exhaust wouldn't be loud at all. Both sides are held together with an H-pipe near the transmission with good clearance and a clean install. It definitely perked the car up a bit compared to the single exhaust and muffler too.
