As someone mentioned, these cars had fit & finish issues brand new from the factory. The factory tolerances back in the 60's and 70's was very loose and QC was abysmal compared to today's new cars. Pic#96 - a common issue is the oil pan to timing cover leak. One can see it leaking oil in that area in the picture. Another is the rear main seal (factory used a rope seal which leaked from day one). They make a better neoprene two-piece seal but it's actually a Ford rear main seal but works on the Olds 455. Regarding the W-31 (aluminum carrier axle), it's rare and was only available for one year. The gears in the rear are 3:91 NOS GM, and the W-27 was not originally on the car, but I wanted it for the race look. Also, this car is the only one I know of with NOS factory exhaust pipes L & R the part numbers are stamped into the pipes with NOS correct mufflers the left is a Buick/Olds number (because Olds did not have a performance 2 1/2\" muffler for left side, and the right is 442 very very hard to find. The cam is a 308 with Olds blue stripe performance valve springs. The hood is NOS, along with the red inner fenders....This car has real power, I put 460 miles before I sold it. I used another original striped W30 to replicate the stripes. The under hood paint is a Ford Flat black because Ford made these fiberglas hoods for Oldsmobile. I had the paint mixed out of original 1960's RM lacquer, interior green along with the firewall with RM suede additive.
